Christ the King/St. Fabian Collaboration Efforts

Last spring, out of a mutual discussion between Father Vic and Father Brian Chabala, pastor of St. Fabian Parish, it was decided that the two parishes would collaborate with one another, with the goal of offering each other opportunities to grow in faith and service, realizing that each parish has distinct gifts to offer the other.

Both pastoral councils visited each other, and the enthusiasm and energy to begin this collaboration effort is high. Since then, each parish has formed a committee, and these committees have met several times over the past year, and are continuing on an on-going basis to meet, discussing how we can enrich the spiritual lives of our parishioners through sharing our different resources.

We are Christ the King Parish, a richly diverse Christian Community in Northwest Detroit. We are on a journey of Discipleship with Jesus, seeking conversion, reconciliation and renewal. We reach out in welcome to all the people within our neighborhood, proclaiming the Good News of Christ the King, building community, celebrating together, serving one another's needs and the needs of all our neighbors.

Sad News

Our church choir has lost a major voice. Donald James McCall passed away on November 23. He was 76 years old. Don was survived by everybody because that is how he treated you. As family.

Visitation at the O'Brien/ Sullivan Funeral Home, 41555 Grand River, Novi 248-348-1800, Wednesday 1-9 p.m. Scripture Service Wednesday 7:30 p.m. In state at Christ the King Church, 16805 Pierson, Detroit, Friday 10 a.m. until the Funeral Liturgy at 11 a.m. Donations can be made to St Vincent DePaul of Christ the King.
